The answer to the question above is yes. I had a chance to check out Ric’s Recollections located in Mississauga, Ontario today, and let me tell you it was a great experience. First thing I notice when I walked into the record store was he had lots of product (new and used) the store was very clean and tidy. Music was playing in the background loud enough to hear it well but you could still have a conversation with someone.
I started my visit by browsing through the used section of the store and right away I found an album I was looking for. I eventually made my way up to the counter and had a conversation with Ric and inquired about a couple albums I was looking for. While talking to Ric he gave me a brief history about his store and how he does business.
He explained to me his process of how he sells used records. First he puts them through a special cleaning machine, and then he personally listens to the album to make sure there are no major skips or crackles. After all that he will price the album accordingly. Some will be more expensive than others depending on the quality and rarity of the album. We then walked around the store for a minute and he showed me how every records was catalogued and in alphabetical order. I was amazed and impressed all at the same time. If you are close enough to make it to his location, Ric has a website with many different features on it including, Featured Vinyl and a Catalogue Search to help you find what you are looking for faster. Check out the website @ www.ricrec.com
Ric has been running this business for over 26 years and he is doing a great job at. If you have any questions about records or even record players Ric is the man to talk to. Don’t forget to check out Ric’s Blog on his website, it’s worth the read. Thanks again Ric for the wonderful experience I’m sure I will drop by again soon to purchase more records.
Here is a picture of a very happy customer and the records he bought today for Ric's Recollection!
